SPORTS

Students will compete for their House in Soccer, Volleyball and Basketball. Middle School students will compete in mixed teams, with an equal balance of boys and girls on both teams, whereas High School students will compete in mixed teams for Volleyball and Girls and Boys teams for Soccer and Basketball. If a High School House is short on players for Soccer or Basketball, then a staff member from their House may play. In total there will be 12 Sport Events over the course of the year and the results are collected which will form League Tables for each sport. 3 points are awarded for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss, at the end of the season the team who finishes first place in each league is awarded 10 points for their House.

House Leaders should ensure that all students take part in games, with students rotated to create equal playing time, teams can lose points if this is not adhered to. Although games are competative, gross imbalances in games should be minimised. This can be done by substituting stronger players or encouraging passing rather than scoring. This should be done when there is a difference of 5 goals in Soccer, and 10 points in Volleyball and Basketball.
