House System
Below are the rules for the 3 sports that House teams will compete in. In all players should be rotated to ensure equal playing time, and efforts should be made by House Leaders to ensure fair games. Focus is on enjoyment and participation, not the result!
Soccer
Match Length
Middle School 25min halves, High School Girls 15min halves, Boys 20min.
Players
Middle School school 8 a side, High School Boys 7 a side and High School Girls 5 a side.
Substitutions
Unlimited, but made when the ball is out of play. House Leaders should try and ensure equal playing time, and every student must play at least 4 mins.
Referee
Mr. Owen will referee the soccer games.
Volleyball
Match Length
First team to win 2 sets. To win a set a team must score 25 points and lead the opposition by 2 points.
Players
Six on a court a one time, efforts should be made to have an equal number of boys and girls in the game at one time.
Substitutions
Students should stay in order and rotate into the game once their team has won back serve. Players from the back court can not spike.
Referee
Team Leaders from each House should referee the game together.
Each team is allowed 1 timeout per set
Basketball
Match Length
Middle School 10min quarters , High School 7min quarters.
Players
5 on the court at one time.
Substitutions
Unlimited, but made when play is stopped. House Leaders should try and ensure equal playing time, and every student must play at least 2 mins.
Referee
Mr. Bruce will referee the basketball games.
Each team is allowed 2 timeouts per match.
